We were so fortunate to have Samantha for most of April and all of May. During this time we went on several "Family Adventures". These were just little outings of discovery of things around our community and things that in most cases none of us had done before and were...FREE!

One evening late in May after dishes were done and showers were taken. We took Sam on one of these adventures. This time to the Keeper of the Plains. A symbol of Wichita and Sedgwick County, this 44-foot sculpture was placed where the little and big Arkansas Rivers meet, which is considered a sacred site by Native Americans and was home to the Wichita tribe.

Not only did we learn a little about the Tribe which one resided right where we were standing but it was a spectacular evening. At 9 pm during the summer hours these huge torches light.

It was a neat experience and one that we will probably have to do again! Not to mention the awesome architecture of the bridges and all of the wildlife swimming around in the rivers. Samantha loved seeing all the baby ducks, geese, and turtles!

As we were leaving Sam saw this HUGE bench and had to pose for the camera! Sweet memories with a sweet little lady!
